MONTCUQ EN QUERCY BLANC

It’s a lovely medieval city, dominated by a tower of the 12th century. While walking in its streets you will discover its architectural and patrimonial wealths.

 

Montcuq is a small town that lives in all seasons, thanks to it’s many small shops and services, as well as its famous market (every Sunday morning, and Thursday morning in summer).

 

Many events are organized, of which the most famous are: the festival of the song with text, the medieval festival, the votive festivals, the street of the children, the 2 days of Montcuq (endurance race on horseback).

 

It is also a land of artists who have opened their studios here. You can discover their talent by visiting the galleries, the exhibitions and their workshops.

 

Nino FERRER, a french popular song artist reconnected with his other passion "painting", inspired by the nature and landscapes of Quercy Blanc. A permanent exhibition is dedicated to him in the Montcuq tower, it is open in July and August.

 

Montcuq is also a must stop on the way to Saint-James of Santiago de Compostela ( the Via Podensis way).

Around Montcuq, you can also enjoy leisure, sports, and cultural activities. Hiking or cycling, swimming, tennis, golf facilities are available.

 

A beautiful lake is located 2 km from the village, with a secure white sand beach in Summer, it also has a children’s inflatable play area. Another area is reserved for fishing. There are also picnic areas and a restaurant.
